Schoolhouse Montessori Academy's First Annual Turkey Trot "was a great success," according to an email to Canton Patchc from Anjilla Young, family concierge for the school, at 1669 Haggerty Rd.

Students spent part of Wednesday jogging around the school's parking lot, earning the laps based on donations brought in by their families for the Canton Goodfellows.

"Every class earned at least four laps around the small section of the parking lot," Young wrote. "We will continue to take donations for Canton Goodfellows through Dec. 2, as we’ve had many parents ask if we could extend the donation time so they could shop for gifts."

The classrooms each had a tasting feast Wednesday, sampling such Thanksgiving treats such as pumpkin pie pudding, potato casserole, cornbread, and more, she said.
